Friends of Smythe Park is a nonpartisan group but this explains the flaws better than anything out there. The public should know, so we decided to post this.
The TRCA and City of Toronto including Mayor Chow and Councillor Nunziata have been aware of the flaws for a long time but still insist on moving ahead with the plan. They claim it is based on sound engineering. It is NOT. Please watch these 3 short videos that explain why the current plans will not work. This project must pause until a solution that will protect the homes near Humber Boulevard as well as the homes west of Jane Street the watersheds, greenspace and Smythe Park wetlands are protected. The community must approve the plan. There is more room for naturalization with an effective solution.
